Heinrich Zutermeister is a modern Swiss composer. He became interested in music at an early age and began his career as a composer in Munich, where he studied under Karl Orff. His lucid style attracted the attention of contemporary conductors, especially the opera "Romeo and Juliet," which was premiered by Karl Böhm to great acclaim. In this second collection, we hear a song from "Romeo and Juliet," "The Consolation of Philosophy" based on a text by Boethius, a Roman philosopher active around 500 A.D., and two sets of songs based on "love letters" written by great German and Swiss figures from the Renaissance to the Age of Enlightenment. The deep voice of the singer is popular among the audience. Juliane Banse, a popular singer with a deep voice, and Benjamin Bruns, who has shown his talent since his days as a boy choir member, sing the songs, and Swiss conductor Rainer Heldt accompanies them beautifully.
