Handel incorporated many dances such as Sarabande and Ritornello into his operas and oratorios. This concept album of Handel's "dances" is now available. The album consists of three parts: Part 1, which includes the overture to "Samson" and the Sinfonia from "Giulio Cesare" in which the horns play an active role; Part 2, which includes the overture to the early opera "Teseo" in which solo instruments play an active role; and Part 3, which includes the overture to the opera "Atalanta" and the gorgeous sound of the trumpets. The third part, from the overture to the opera "Atalanta," features the brilliant sound of the trumpet. The Capriccio Baroque Orchestra is a small group of virtuoso period musicians, and Keiko Kinoshita plays the flute part on this album. Naxos Japan
