Shikinami

Description:

"Shikinami," an instrumental unit whose popularity is skyrocketing thanks to their remarkable individual achievements, has announced the release of their first-ever mini-album to mark their 20th anniversary! The album features three original tracks by Shikinami. ● Track List "Isuzugawa" A piece where the majesty of a flowing river resonates with the warmth of sunlight filtering through the trees. Centered on the beauty of "Wa" (Japanese aesthetics), it reflects Shikinami’s current state as they continue to take on new challenges. "Mother’s Day" We’ve set the feeling of "thank you"—something we rarely get to express—to music. We hope that listening to this song will bring to mind your own personal stories with your mothers. "Thanks to You" We’ve expressed gratitude for the joy of living through sound. We hope you can feel the warmth and tenderness of this melody in your heart. Formed in May 2006 by Ima Shirasu (Violin), Hiroaki Tsutsumi (Guitar), and Akio Noguchi (Piano), who met at the Kunitachi College of Music. In recent years, each member has achieved remarkable success in their individual careers. Ima Shirasu served as concertmaster for the orchestra in the opening ceremony video of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and performed as a string section member for the film *National Treasure*, among other diverse activities. Hiroaki Tsutsumi is a composer, arranger, and guitarist whose career is skyrocketing; he has composed music for the NHK morning drama series “Omusubi,” the anime series “Jujutsu Kaisen,” “Tokyo Revengers,” and “Dr. STONE,” as well as the film “Hyakuemu.” Akio Noguchi is active in a wide range of genres, primarily playing Irish instruments such as the tin whistle and uilleann pipes. He has participated in numerous works by various composers, including the NHK morning dramas “Yell” and “Omusubi,” the Taiga drama “Saigo Don,” and the drama “Most Beloved.” The gentle, delicate, and heartfelt tones woven by these three musicians have garnered acclaim with every concert, and they are currently attracting attention from many quarters. "A Message from Shikinami on the Release of This Mini-Album" Amidst the endless sea of information that floods the modern world, we have expressed the kindness we truly wish to touch upon by riding the waves of "sound." Though we can only entrust our feelings of that moment to sound with simple sincerity, we will continue to take those small steps forward with strength. Reaching this milestone of our 20th anniversary, we feel now is the time to share Shikinami’s music—and it is all thanks to everyone we have met along the way. Please accept this gift, which we have given our all to create. Shikinami
