Kenny Beats is a beatmaker and producer who has performed with, produced and collaborated with everyone from Mac DeMarco to Benny Sings.When the world was instantly engulfed by a pandemic, Kenny, who was in the UK to produce the popular rock band Idols, received word that his beloved father had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Listening back to the mix tapes his father had made for him as a child, which included songs by Sherday, Willie Nelson, and Dr. Dre, Kenny was brought back to life with a variety of emotions, and he found himself determined to give his father a gift. It was the fruit of an avalanche of creativity spontaneously born from an avalanche of desperation and imagination. After sharing the album with a few close friends, who spoke of the heartbreaking melancholy it brought, Kenny decided to give it to the world. He has publicly stated that he would never make a solo album, and the result is 17 beats of a moving soul odyssey looping through his chest.
