Three members of the legendary Finnish melodic death/power metal band Norther reunite to form a new band Crownshift and release their debut album! The album is a catchy and aggressive masterpiece that sublimates melodic death, heavy metal, progressive rock, and even pop music! The album features Daniel Hleberg (G) of Children of Bodom, Jukka Koskinen (B) of Nightwish and Wintersun, Heikki Saari (Dr) of Fintroll, and Tommy Tuovinen (Vo) of Mygrain. Crownshift is a new band that brings together the greats of the Finnish extreme metal scene. Daniel, Jukka, and Heikki used to play in the melodic death/power metal band Norther. However, the band disbanded in 2012. At that time, they vowed to do something together someday. Finally, in 19 years, that vow came to fruition as Crownshift. Their debut album, which bears the band's name, is now being released.Of course melodic death metal is our most important style, but we have experienced a lot in the past years and our sound has become much richer," says Daniel about this album. True to his words, the songs on this album are based on melodic death metal, but also incorporate heavy metal, rock, pop, and even progressive rock, making for a truly ambitious result. Dirty vocals and clean singing intermingle with each other. Catchy melodies and beautiful harmonies. Some songs are intense, while others are atmospheric and slow.
