The year 2022 marks the 300th anniversary of the completion of the first volume of J.S. Bach's Mean Clavier cycle, which is often referred to as the "Old Testament" of music. To commemorate this occasion, Naoya Otsuka will perform the entire first volume on the Positif organ. Naoya Otsuka is highly acclaimed not only for his performances, but also for his talks, concerts with a rich planning style, and conducting activities. Here, too, you will hear a warm performance that makes full use of the charm of the Positif organ, while at the same time exuding his intelligence and personality. The strict counterpoint of Bach's music is softly unraveled and developed, giving listeners a time of exquisite pleasure. The booklet includes a detailed and easy-to-read commentary by Kazuhiro Fujiwara on the history of tuning and tonality, as well as on the historical significance of the cycle, making it a pleasure to listen to and even better to read.The title is "Das Wohltemperirte Clavier I" as it appears in Bach's published score. Profile of Naoya Otsuka: Naoya Otsuka was born in Tokyo, Japan. She studied piano under Minoru Harada, Yasuko Takahashi, and Hisako Okano, in addition to receiving basic musical training at Victor Boys Choir. After graduating from the Department of Musicology at Tokyo University of the Arts, he completed his graduate studies in harpsichord at the same university (Doctor of Music). He also graduated from the Department of Harpsichord and Organ at the Amsterdam Conservatory of Music. After returning to Japan in 1999, he studied harpsichord and organ in Tokyo Since returning to Japan in 1999, he has been active as a harpsichord, organ, and clavichord player based in Tokyo, and also conducts workshops for those who are new to these instruments in various locations. In recent years, he has also been highly acclaimed for his conducting activities, especially in Baroque vocal works such as "Messiah" (Handel) and "Mass in B minor" (Bach).He is currently a professor at the Faculty of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts, a part-time lecturer at Kunitachi College of Music, and an organ project advisor at the Miyazaki Prefectural Arts Center and the Saitama Arts Center. He is a member of the Japan Harpsichord Society, the Japan Organist Association, and the Japan Organ Study Group, and serves as a guide for NHK FM's "The Joy of Old Music. King International Inc.
