Eugene Ormandy and the Philadelphia Orchestra are well versed in Respighi's repertoire, and this is the first of several recordings of the "Rome Trilogy" made by RCA between 1973 and 1974. This album contains the last of the "Rome Trilogy" recorded by RCA between 1973 and 1974. The album features thick and mellow string parts, a lineup of virtuoso players, and soft and brilliant wind sounds throughout.
