Simon Mourier, one of today's best vibraphonists, recognized by masters such as Quincy Jones and Herbie Hancock, has arrived with his fifth leader album! The unique harmonies produced by his quartet with talented musicians Rex Korten (Piano), Rick Rosato (Bass), and Jong-Guk Kim (Drums) are a must-hear. The quartet also features guest appearances by Gerald Clayton, a talented pianist of note, and Marquis Hill, one of the finest trumpeters of our time, who is also a driving force in Chicago jazz! Simon Mourier is a vibraphonist, composer, arranger, and producer born in France in 1994. After studying with Quincy Jones, Herbie Hancock, and Wayne Shorter at the Thelonious Monk Conservatory, and Darren Barrett at Berklee College of Music, he has worked with Gerald Clayton, Teri Lynn Carrington, and Buster Williams in New York City, and with Mark His debut album, "Spirit Song," was critically acclaimed by many media and musicians in 2020.Since then, he has consistently released leader albums, including "Countdown" (2021), "Isla" (2022), and "Inception" (2023), all of which have received high acclaim. He has also performed at New York's Lincoln Center, Village Vanguard, Blue Note, and other jazz festivals around the world.
