The latest release from leading German pianist Sebastian Gahler is a modern jazz album inspired by Haruki Murakami's highly acclaimed novels, which are also highly acclaimed in Europe. He brings to life "Two Moons," "Aomame," and "Tengo" from "1Q84," as well as characters from "Kafka by the Sea" and "Norwegian Wood. Matthias Akeo Nowak on bass, Ralph Gessler on drums, and some of Germany's finest musicians, including Dennis Gabuel on saxophone and Ryan Carniot on trumpet. Sebastian Gerler is a jazz pianist who was born in Germany in 1978. He studied with jazz pianist Buddy Casino in Dusseldorf, then went on to the University of Arts Arnheim and the Cologne College of Music, where he studied with Barry Harris, John Taylor, and various other pianists. He formed the Sebastian Gahler Trio with bassist Nico Brandenburg and drummer René Marx in 2003, and released his first album "Meditation" in 2009.He then released "Trust" in 2012 and "Down the Street" in 2016, which featured leading German saxophonist Wolfgang Ingstfeld and others. He has also released albums as Indigojazzlounge, a unit with vocalist Inga Lüning, including "Indigojazzlounge" in 2008 and "New Bar Standards Volume 2" in 2019ne. He is also active in other units such as the Jazz Ensemble Dusseldorf led by Peter Weiss and Gruppe Lewis. He is one of Germany's leading pianists.
