Although the impact of the conductor as a bombastic conductor is strong, the classical music of Arbendt Roth is presented in a straightforward manner that presents "the original beauty of the classics" without any pretension. In this Mozart concert with the Staatskapelle Dresden, a long-established orchestra whose heritage is in its smoked silver tone, the virtues of the Arbentrott style of classical playing are on full display. The chiseled, sculptural sound of "Serenata Notturna" was a moving performance of pure power.
