The debut album of Tomoko Mukaiyama, based in Amsterdam, has been remastered and restored to its original sound quality just before its 30th anniversary! Tomoko Mukaiyama's debut album "Women Composers", which was released in 1994 to great acclaim, has been re-released by ALTUS in a newly remastered edition in 2023, just before its 30th anniversary! The album features unique works by five female composers, including Ustvolskaya's Piano Sonata No. 6, a performance endorsed by the composer. Some of the works are accompanied by their own vocals, while others were written for Mukaiyama. The album is a masterpiece that combines technique and musicality at a high level to create a new expression, and can be considered the starting point of Mukaiyama, who is currently developing a variety of activities with the ideas of genderlessness and diversity at the core of his expression. The album still strongly conveys how Mukaiyama approached music after moving to Amsterdam in 1990, as well as the atmosphere and the state of art in Holland at that time. He says, "I recorded this album shortly after I moved to Holland, when I was fortunate enough to win a competition and was beginning to make up my mind that, yes, I was going to make it as a pianist. I wanted an album like nothing I had ever heard before, something strong, new music, repertoire that would expand my pianistic horizons, and what I was looking for was a group of works composed by women.Tomoko Mukaiyama, King International Inc.
