Description:
A live recording of Elischka's beloved masterpiece "Stabat Mater" by the Grand Philharmonic's greatest hope! This is a beautiful recording of a beautiful concert resulting from the wonderful relationship between the two musicians. Elischka is a granddisciple of Janacek and an evangelist of Czech music. Her first performance with the Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra was Janacek's "Glagolitic Mass" in 2008. The maestro was so impressed by the level of the chorus, which sang beautifully despite the difficult Slavic lyrics, that he suggested they perform Dvořák's "Stabat Mater" next. This "Stabat Mater" was originally on Elischka's wish list to perform with the Osaka Philharmonic. In 2015, after their fourth collaboration, they finally got to perform the program they had hoped for. The Osaka Philharmonic, feeling that this was a special occasion, approached Elischka, saying that they wanted to preserve the performance of this piece with the Maestro, and a live recording of the performance was made. This is a performance of Elischka's beloved work, performed with respect and care. Under the conductor's superb leadership, the orchestra with its transparent beauty, the chorus with its magnificent warmth, and the soloists with their skillful expressions in accordance with the musical theme, all work together to weave a supreme Dvořák performance. The orchestra, chorus, and soloists, all of whom are skillful and expressive in accordance with the musical theme, are united in the supreme Dvořák. The orchestra beautifully portrays the moving music of the gradual healing of grief in a series of gentle movements such as andante and largo. The liner notes include a passionate commentary by Toshihide Katayama, who describes this piece as "a drama of the soul" in addition to the bilingual lyrics. <Radomir Elischka(1931-) is the Principal Guest Conductor of the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra. From 1969 to 1990, he served as Principal Conductor and Music Director of the prestigious Czech orchestra, the Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra. In 2006, he gave a legendary performance at the subscription concert of the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, and in 2008, he became the first Principal Guest Conductor of the orchestra. His live CD with the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra has been highly acclaimed. He served as the president of the Czech Dvorak Society from 2001 to June 2013. <The Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra was founded in 1947 under the name "Kansai Symphony Orchestra" with Takashi Asahina as its leader. Takashi Asahina served as the Permanent Conductor and General Music Director for 55 years from its foundation to 2001. Subsequently, Eiji Oue served as the second Music Director, and as of 2017, he is the laureate conductor. In April 2014, the orchestra began holding "subscription concerts" (10 times a year, two concerts each time) at Festival Hall with Michiyoshi Inoue as chief conductor. In addition, the orchestra is involved in a wide range of activities, including the weekday noon concert "Matinee Symphony" and the music event "Osaka Classics" held mainly in the Midosuji and Nakanoshima areas of Osaka. He has also contributed to the promotion of culture outside of Osaka and throughout Japan, and has received rave reviews during several concert tours in Europe, Canada, the U.S., Korea, and Taiwan.
