Natsume Takashi is a boy who has been able to see ghosts since he was a child. Since he inherited the "Book of Friends," a legacy left by his grandmother Reiko, he spends his days with his self-proclaimed bouncer, Nyanko-sensei, returning names to the yokai whose names are bound in it. As he connects and deepens his bonds with various yokai and people, the number of important things increases.
