The Lounge Society, a four-piece from Hebden Bridge, U.K., whose singles & EPs have been getting a lot of attention. Debut album "Tired of Liberty" produced by Dan Carey (Fontaines D.C., Wet Leg) and released on Speedy Wonderground. Hebden Bridge's The Lounge Society returns to Dan Carey's (Fontaines D.C., Wet Leg, Kae Tempest) studio for a third time. Tired of Liberty, which producer Carey says he "wanted to start with a strong focus and end chaotically," captures a dark, twisted pop groove. The album was recorded over a two-week period in November 2021 and is an ubiquitous snapshot of intense instrumentals and timeless adolescence.In the interest of adaptability, the majority of the 11 songs included (with the exception of "Generation Game," which was released as part of the Speedy Wunderground 7-inch series and subsequently re-recorded) were written just before or during that two-week session. Unlike many bands, The Lounge Society functions best as a collective. There is no central leader, and everything, from inspiration to lyrics, is done collaboratively, striving to create a creative unit that is larger than the individual.
