This is the soundtrack to the nature documentary film "A Trout in the Milk," which explores the nature commons using the mountain stream fish iwana as its motif. The film features 14 tracks with music by Daisuke Tanabe and Yosi Horikawa, two sound producers active in Japan and abroad. What does it mean to protect a species? The iwana, a fish that lives in deep mountain valleys, is still a mystery. Its ecology is still a mystery, and it has fascinated many people as a mysterious fish. The ecosystem surrounding the iwana is now facing a crisis. This science documentary explores the "commons of nature" in the context of technology and environmental conservation, science and culture, and local communities, amidst the current clamor for the SDGs. The film's music is supported by Daisuke Tanabe, a sound producer active in the electronica and dance music scene, and Yosi Horikawa, a close friend.All songs are composed by two artists, Daisuke Tanabe, a fisherman, and Yosi Horikawa, who has been confronting nature through the field recording method. The artwork is by Nagasawa Hekiyo, a licensed hunter and artist who has been involved in the mountain hunting culture of the Tohoku region. The creators, who have paid attention to the natural environment, mountain stream fish, and wildlife, and continue to be involved with them, have come together to create a new soundtrack that embodies the appeal of this film, which focuses on the ideal state of biodiversity.
