WORLD STANDARD

Description:

Welcome back, 1980's World Standard, welcome to 2024! Celebrating 40 years! World Standard, led by Soichiro Suzuki, released three fantastic albums on cassette tape only between 1982 and 1984, before their debut, and now, after 40 years, they are finally released! The three titles were digitally remastered and released simultaneously for the first time on CD under the supervision of Suzuki Satoru. With the release of the old albums on Everything Play and the 1997 album "Country Gazette" on double vinyl from Cudighi Records in the U.S., World Standard has been attracting renewed attention from all over the world. The trilogy of cassettes "ASAGAO," "YOIMONO," and "Music Train" were distributed in very small numbers before Walstad's debut on Non-Standard in 1985.All of the songs on this album, which was highly acclaimed and featured twice in Ryuichi Sakamoto's "Demo Tape Special" on NHK-FM's Sound Street at the time, were recorded at home, and the album is full of the joy of playing the quiet minimalism and neo-acoustic, ethno, world, and American music that responded to post-punk and new wave. The album is an album of the joy of playing sounds that sparkle with the curiosity and amateurish sense of innovation of young musicians, ranging from quiet minimalism and neo-acoustic, ethno, world, and American music in response to the post-punk to new wave movements. It also contains a musical vein of world standards that has continued from their debut to the present. The 1980's World Standard Trilogy returns in 2024. Please enjoy a time travel with the magic of world standard music. Booklet interview and composition by Yuji Shibasaki, art direction by Yu Yokoyama, illustrator/designer of recent World Standard works. Paper jacket + special obi.
