Inspired by the book "On the Road" by Jack Kerouac, a leading writer of the American Beat Generation, she selected this collection of American piano music. Route 66, the title of the album, is the Route 66 that used to connect Chicago and Santa Monica, which also appears in Kerouac's "On the Road. Although the route is now closed, it was often used as a subject in pop culture in the mid-20th century and remains a popular theme.The album begins with the minimalist music of John Adams' "The Gates of China," followed by Keith Jarrett's classic "My Wild Irish Rose," jazz pianist Bill Evans' lovely "Waltz for Debby," a piano piece dedicated to Bernstein's wife, Felicia Montealegre, and the Gershwin masterpiece "Porgy and Bess" arranged by Keith Jarrett. The album includes a piano piece dedicated to Bernstein's wife, Felicia Montealegre, and Keith Jarrett's arrangement of "My Beloved Porgy" from Gershwin's masterpiece "Porgy and Bess," as well as "On the Road," which describes the youth and anguish of a young man and woman, and includes a variety of piano pieces that are a mixture of joy, sadness, loneliness, craving, and various other emotions. The album also ends with French diva Nathalie Desay singing "What is Love?" composed by Cole Porter for the musical "Wake Up and Dream."
