Description:
Trumpeter Francesco "Cicci" Santucci and saxophonist Enzo Scoppa emerged in the late 1950s as part of the Italian group Modern Jazz Gang, along with such Italian jazz greats as Sandro Brgnolini and Amadeo Tommage. They emerged in the late 1950s as members of the Modern Jazz Gang, an Italian group that included such Italian jazz greats as Sandro Brgnolini and Amadeo Tommage. Maestro" Piero Umiliani opened his Sound Workshop, a recording studio in the center of Rome, to them so that they could produce albums under his supervision. Thus was born the jazz-funk album OLIMPIADE, featuring the electric piano of Franco D'Andrea (who would play with the Group Perigio a year later) and the organ of Belgian musician Joel Vendrokenblack. This session was also released under the name "On The Underground Road" on the Dire label at the time, but this Sound Work Shop version is the original. This time, it is reissued for the first time in its original jacket.A poster of this cover and a print sleeve showcasing the Sound Workshop Studio are also included.
