Description:

Dream Theater's 22nd official bootleg features live recordings from "Summer Sonic 2010," which marked Mike Portnoy's final performance before his departure Since 2021, Dream Theater has been releasing the "Lost Not Forgotten Archives" series, featuring rare recordings such as live performances, demos, and studio outtakes as official bootlegs. The 22nd installment in the series, the first release in about two and a half years, is a live album capturing their performance at "Summer Sonic 2010," featuring previously unreleased material. On August 8, 2010—the final day of the world tour for their 2009 album *Black Clouds & Silver Linings*—Dream Theater headlined the Mountain Stage at Summer Sonic, marking their first-ever appearance at a Japanese music festival. It is well known among fans that this performance was the last by Mike Portnoy (drums), one of the band’s founders and a key figure, before his departure (Mike left the band one month later and returned in October 2023). This release features the full audio recording, which was also made for a later TV broadcast. The intense 75-minute set, centered around a collection of extended new songs, is well worth listening to. It is a high-quality live recording that vividly captures the band’s dynamic and formidable performance skills, as well as the excitement of the jubilant audience. The CD will be released in a digipak format. Released immediately following the band’s first Japan tour since Mike’s return—which kicks off with a concert at Nippon Budokan on February 25, 2026—and featuring beautiful kaleidoscope artwork inspired by the cherry blossom season, this release is a clear expression of the band’s special affection for Japan.
