Released in 1999 Death in Vegas 2nd album "The Contino Sessions" (analog) Featuring Iggy Pop, Bobby Gillespie and other splendid guests Death in Vegas was formed in the UK in 1994. With their unique sound, ranging from dance, electro, and big beat to psychedelic rock, they have gained the support of many musicians as well as their fans. This is the analog version of Death in Vegas' second album "The Contino Sessions", which was released in 1999. Named after the London Contino Rooms (recording location), the album is a highly accomplished work that expresses the band's unique blend of electronica and rock. The album also features a number of guest vocalists, including Dot Allison, Bobby Gillespie (Primal Scream), Jim Reid (Jesus & The Merry Chain), and Iggy Pop, all of whom give brilliant performances. Each of them gave brilliant performances, and among them, Iggy Pop's "Aisha" has an overwhelming presence.The song's confession of being a cemetery murderer would seem overdone by any other artist, but for Iggy it is completely natural, and is the centerpiece of the album, literally and figuratively. The result is a highly acclaimed album, including a nomination for the 2000 Mercury Prize.
