Description:
KAIPA's 15th album "Sommargryningsljus" features Hans Lundin, a Swedish legend with a 60-year music career. With 60 years of music experience, Hans is a legend not only in Sweden but also in the world of progressive rock. Sommargryningsljus", the latest release from KAIPA, the band he formed in 1973, is an epic masterpiece that reaches back into the past. Two songs in the middle of the album, "Seven Birds" and "Spiderweb Train," are deeply linked to past works. The basic parts of these two songs were originally written in the late 90s and stored on floppy disks. By transferring the MIDI files from there to a modern recording system, the 25 years of past and present melded together to create a magical piece of music that feels like a new breath of fresh air.It is striking that these two songs coincide with the production of "Notes from the Past" (2002), the band's return to the music scene after a 20-year absence." The title of this album, "Sommargryningsljus," which means "light of summer dawn," takes us on a breathtaking journey of changing colors, moods, and tones from dusk to dawn in the dreamlike landscape of the band's native Sweden. The first two tracks, "Like Thousand Dawns" (3), which clocks in at over 11 minutes, is a fine piece of music, full of energy and vitality. The longest track on the album, (6) "Spiderweb Train," is a flowing, sigh-inducing piece of music. Hans Lundin commented on (4) "Revelationview," which was released prior to the album's release, "This is the most folk music-inspired song on KAIPA's new album, and you can hear the violin and whistling in the background. Once in a lifetime, or several times, we encounter those magical moments when time seems to disappear.I call it 'Revelationview. This song is based on this experience. The long journey of "a night" depicted in this album can be seen as a metaphor for death and rebirth, as well as an allegory for life. Forty-nine years after the release of their debut album "Kaipa," which was also themed around the theme of "dawn," KAIPA has once again delivered us a masterpiece that allows us to immerse ourselves in the "twilight of sound. The album comes in a limited edition media book with a 24-page color booklet and stickers. <KAIPA>Keyboards & vocals - Hans LundinElectronic & acoustic guitars - Per NilssonElectric basses - Jonas ReingoldDrums - Darby ToddVocals - Patril LundstromVocals - Aleena Gibson
