Following his previous recording (FON1401017), a captivating recital program of Scriabin, Metonel, and Rachmaninoff, this remarkable new recording of the Russian program features Tchaikovsky's "Four Seasons" piano cycle, which emotionally depicts each of the 12 months of the year, as well as the Tchaikovsky Tchaikovsky album. Tropp also recorded "The Four Seasons" in 1995, and "The Four Seasons," which is being presented to the world again after an absence of some 24 years, is sure to show the full maturity of the 79-year-old at the time of recording. We look forward to a new Tchaikovsky album from the master of Russian pianism, who also serves as vice president of the Rachmaninoff Society and a board member of the Scriabin Society of Russia.
