The album, which included such classic songs as "Plug In Baby" and "New Born," was a huge musical and commercial success, reaching #3 on the UK Albums Chart and breaking into the Top 10 for the first time. This album, with its bold yet delicate melodies, shocking lyrics, and intense guitar sound, is a work in which Matthew Bellamy's aesthetic has flourished, evolving into a more emotional and brilliant work that establishes their unique worldview. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of "ORIGIN OF SYMMETRY," "ORIGIN OF SYMMETRY (XX ANNIVERSARY REMIXX)," a further evolution of the original, is now available. To mark the anniversary, the members of Muse decided to look back at the original recordings with producer Rich Costey, with whom they have worked together on previous albums.Whereas many of the remix albums released to date have been bold reworkings of the originals, the band wanted Costey to sound more resolved, more open and dynamic, but less squashed. As a result, the new remixes on this release highlight parts and ideas that were buried or muted in the original mixes. These include the harpsichord on "Micro Cuts" and the Abbey Road Studio strings on "Citizen Erased," "Megalomania," and "Space Dementia. And so, from the album's first track "New Born," which opens with an intuitive guitar riff, to the visual melancholia of "Megalomania," to the epic fan favorite "Citizen Erased," the remixes reveal the intricate production of the album in subtle and detailed ways, while also revealing new warmth. The remixes reveal the album's complex production in minute detail, while finding new warmth. The album is also mastered by Alex Wharton of Abbey Road Studios. "After facing the album 'ORIGIN OF SYMMETRY' again, I realized how good the original mixes of singles like 'Plug In Baby' and 'Bliss' were. So it was extremely difficult to make this one even better.We've also made some significant changes to some of the deeper songs, like 'Micro Cuts. In addition to the new sound, the anniversary release also features a new cover featuring William Eager's original artwork with a hyper-realistic (=surrealistic) worldview injected through a 3D rendering process.
