(Estonian master Nämé Järvi was awarded the "Lifetime Achievement Award" at the 2018 Gramophone Awards. The new recording with the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra (ENSO), with whom Järvi has had a long relationship since his days as a percussionist and is currently Music Director & Chief Conductor, is a sequel to the "Ballet Music of France (PCHAN20132/CHAN20132)" released in 2019 and selected as a Record Art Special Disc. A delightful program of little-known stage music from the 18th and early 20th centuries, the overtures by Thomas, Aubert, and Boiardieu are all music for works performed at the Opéra-Comique in Paris.Järvi, who also performed "Dreib: Ballet Suites (RCHSA5257/CHSA5257)" with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra to great acclaim (Recorded Arts Special Mention), will perform music from Dreib's "The King's Pleasure" and Massenet's Spanish ballet music "Espada". and more, this is a dense program that will have fans drooling.
