The album includes two world premiere recordings of Macmillan's works. Vaughan Williams' "Taste and See" was commissioned for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II and sung at Westminster Abbey on June 2, 1953. The choir of Westminster Abbey, an Anglican church designated as a World Heritage Site, consists of 30 boys' chorus and 12 professional adult singers, and is known as the pinnacle of church choirs and has long played an important international role in liturgical and celebratory occasions.
