A piece with Finnish soulValter Wolff (1981-) was born in Helsinki. After studying at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague in the Netherlands, he worked as a jazz pianist before returning to Finland in 2012 to start his career as a classical music composer. This album is a "portrait" album of Wolff, who started his career as a composer. The Sonata for Cello and Piano is the first work that Wolff wrote for chamber music. The "Andante moderato" expresses conflict, anger, fighting spirit, and "Sisu" (Finnish spirit); the lyrical "Adagio ma non troppo" declares "sweetly and spicy" his love for music, existence, and life; and the diminishing scale of the The three movements of the "Allegro" are based on harmonies and an attempt at polyrhythm. The three movements of the "Allegro! The "General Impressions, Dimensions and Forms" is a suite of small pieces written for the Dutch violinist Merel Junge. The album features "Part III" and "Part IV. Trio #1" with cello and violin harmonics and pizzicato, and piano single-note rhythmic ostinato.Trio #2" was inspired by the folk music of the Balkans, Afro-Cuban music, and the style of jazz pianist McCoy Tyner.
