Description:

Kruambing is back with a compilation of songs from all over the world! The compilation features songs from all over the world, from Asia to Africa, as well as a rare groove song from Japan, known as the theme song of a TV drama starring Shoken! The latest release in the "Late Night Tales" series, the definitive compilation of "night music" loved around the world, features the groove trio Kruambing, who have gained popularity for their midnight funk infused with classic soul, dub, and psychedelia. The band first gained attention in the past when Bonobo selected their song "A Calf Born in Winter" (from "Everything Smiles for You") for this series, and now they are back with a bang. The compilation/mix includes the somewhat melancholy Hindi disco "Khushi" by Pakistani singer Nazia Hassan, produced by British producer Biddu, who has roots in India; "Don't Go" by Korean rock band Sanullim, which has a lighthearted groove; and the Nigerian band Maxwell Udoh's "Soul of the World", which has a more melancholy feel to it. The album also featured the melancholy Hindi disco "Khushi" by Pakistani singer Nazia Hassan, the light groove of "Don't Go" by Korean rock band Sanullim, African classics by Nigeria's Maxwell Udoh and Ethiopia's Roha Band, and Belarus' popular band, Piesznyaly. The album also features songs by Belarusian band Песняры and Spain's Paloma San Basilio, whose intense vocal performance is sure to captivate. The album also includes a cover of Kool & the Gang's classic "Summer Madness" by Kruambing as an exclusive track. Also selected from Japan is George Yanagi's "Matsuri-bayashi ga kikoeru theme," the theme song from the 1977 TV drama "Matsuri-bayashi ga kikoeru," starring the late Kenichi Hagiwara (Shoken), a mellow rare groove classic that is also known as a recoemen by DJ MURO, the world-renowned King Of Diggin'! The last song on the compilation/mix is Geoffrey Muller's banjo cover of Erik Satie's "Gnossienne", and Tierney Malone's "Gnossienne", also from Texas. Tierney Malone, also from Texas, closes with a song with spoken words. Throughout, the song selections transcend national borders and cultures, revealing a deep love for music from around the world and their musical roots.
