Description:

Shocking first live recording on the 40th anniversary of Karl Richter's death! The release of Haydn's "The Creation", which is not included in the discography! In 2021, the 40th anniversary of the death of Carl Richter, Haydn's "The Creation" will be released! Richter passed away suddenly on February 15, 1981, and therefore the studio recording of "The Creation," one of the most important works in his repertoire, could not be made. This recording was made live at the Munich State Opera in May 1972, and miraculously was preserved in the archives of the Bavarian State Opera. The Hensler label negotiated with the Bavarian State Opera to release the recording on CD, and finally the recording has seen the light of day. Although the sound quality is not the best because it is a recording, it is a valuable source that allows us to fully enjoy the "Richter sound" because it was recorded in stereo. The Hensler label has carefully remastered this recording so that the listener can enjoy "The Creation" with the rich sensibility of Carl Richter. It is not only from the viewpoint of documentary value, but it is also a pleasure to be able to listen to Richter's new recording now. The Creation" Haydn's oratorio is said to be his masterpiece, inspired by Handel's great works such as "Messiah" during his visit to England. Using "Genesis" and "Psalms" from the Old Testament and Milton's "Paradise Lost" as its subject matter, the work depicts the seven days of creation in chronological order, from the first to the fourth day of creation by God, to the fifth and sixth days when the creatures appear, and the appearance of Adam and Eve.
