A tribute album to Japan by the Japanophile Savall! On the 2007 release *The Road to the East / Francisco Xavier* (AVSA9856), Savall met numerous Japanese musicians, deepened his ties with them, and eventually went on to hold concerts with them in various locations around the world. These encounters served as the inspiration for creating a special tribute album for Japan, which had been struck by a major disaster. Savall is also a great admirer of Japan and actively collaborates with Japanese artists in Europe, particularly during opera performances. This release features excerpts related to Japan and Spain from the album *The Road to the East / Francisco Xavier (1506–1553)* (AVSA98569), which was released in February 2008. Proceeds from this special edition—which unfolds into a luxurious mini folding screen—will be donated in full by the Aria Vox label to the Japanese Red Cross Society. King International
