POPOL ACE, a Norwegian jazz/brass-rock band, was formed in 1973 under the name "POPOL VUH" and renamed ARMAN SUMPE D.E. The band's '73 album was released on Norwegian label Polydor under the name "POPOL VUH". Reissued in '23 from Albumklassikere in Norske, Norway! The album retains the Scandinavian pop, melodiousness and variety of the previous album, but the slightly rough songs and arrangements have been smartly refined. The groovy 'Queen Of All Queens' that opens the album is the first track, and the band's detailed performance and ensemble focus on individual songs, while the symphonic color is suppressed and the rock color is pushed out.The lyrical and emotional melodies of songs such as 'Dark Nights,' 'Music Box,' and 'Yesterday,' which were often buried in the previous album, are further demonstrated, and in terms of content, this is a good album that can hardly be compared to the previous one! The master was newly remastered from the original master tape by Giert Claussen, the engineer who handles all of the label's works, based on the master distributed by Universal in Norway.
