U.K.

Description:

U.K. was a super band at the end of the progressive rock scene in the 1970s. The band was formed by four of the most powerful technicians on the progressive rock scene: Bill Bruford (ex-Yes-King Crimson), John Wetton (ex-Family-King Crimson), Eddie Jobson (ex-Carved Air-Roxy Music), and Alan Holdsworth (ex-Tempest-Soft Machine-Gong). The appearance of this band, formed by four of the most powerful technicians in the progressive rock scene, was a ray of light in the progressive rock scene during the heyday of punk rock in 1978. Their debut album "U.K." was released in March 1978, and despite the headwinds of the punk rock boom, it did well, reaching No.65 on the U.S. album chart and No.43 on the U.K. album chart, and selling 250,000 copies at that point. It sold 250,000 copies at this point. To promote the album, the band began a UK tour on April 29 in Southampton, England, playing 13 shows until May 11 in London, followed by a North American tour starting in Toronto, Canada, on June 23 and ending in Cleveland, Ohio, on November 9, for 39 shows. The tour will continue through November 9 in Cleveland, Ohio. On August 8, they played an outdoor concert in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which was recorded and broadcast as a program on a local FM station. This live album is the best remastered version of the broadcast material available at the time of this release. This live album is a complete recording of the concert, and is a perfect live performance that is as good as the studio work, and shows how great this super band is. It is worth mentioning that 'The Sahara Of Snow' from the debut album of Bill Bluford's new band "Bluford", which he left after this tour to form a band with Alan Holdsworth, is featured on the album, as well as two songs from the second album in different arrangements. The second is 'The Sahara Of Snow' from the debut album of Bill Bluford's new band, 'Bluford'.This is truly a long-awaited live album release for progressive rock fans! Imported Japanese version with Japanese obi and bilingual liner notes>John Wetton (b, vo)Eddie Jobson (kbds, vn)Alan Holdsworth (g)Bill Bruford (ds)
