An immortal masterpiece in the history of Japanese ambient/minimal music, "oscillation" of space and life, is now available for the first time on CD with previously unreleased sound recordings! Distributed in 1984 by Sound Process Design, a company founded by Satoshi Ashikawa, a pioneer of environmental music in Japan, this work has remained shrouded in mystery until today, when it is finally revealed in its entirety. A thoughtful response to the works of great artists such as Erik Satie, Claude Debussy, John Cage, Steve Reich, Brian Eno, Haruomi Hosono, and King Crimson in the early 1980s. The album features seven tracks, three from the original LP, a reprise of the album's key piece "Nocturne," and a previously unreleased recording and chamber music arrangement version of the sequel "Nocturne II. The only work in the "Reflexion" series by Sound Process Design, this Gaussian-blurred Glass/Reich-ism suite occupies perhaps the most remote position in a vast body of bubble-era environmental music works.While the "Wave Notation" series expressed minimalism in terms of spatial composition and emotional refinement, Kenichiro Isoda and Hiroshi Hirohashi approached it in a more liturgical sense by evaporating the hardness of New York into a gaseous state, suitable for "floating like smoke" in the environmental space envisioned by Satoshi Ashikawa The result is not a grid that constitutes a city.
