In elementary and middle school classrooms, after PE class where we keep our shoes on, everyone gathers during recess—a “danger zone”—and takes them off all at once. The seven-colored Akashi Strait stretches all the way to Awaji Island; in winter, the Luminarie illuminates our world, shining far into the distant future.
