Description:
A must-hear British recording from 1965 for rock fans, featuring John Mayall, Eric Clapton, and others! Champion Jack Dupree was a New Orleans-style blues and boogie-woogie pianist and "professor" of barrelhouse piano; in 1959 he played an informal duo gig with Alexis Conner at the London School of Economics. Dupree moved to Europe in 1960, passing through Switzerland, Denmark, England, Sweden, and finally settling in Germany. This album was produced by Mike Vernon, who worked with many of the biggest British blues-rock groups (Fleetwood Mac, John Mayall & the Blues Breakers, etc.) and started Blue Horizon, a label dedicated to blues, from the 2nd to the 4th of November, 1965. Recorded in London, England and released on DECCA. The album features Eric Clapton's guitar and John Mayall's harmonica. Commentary: Nagata Shikago
