A long-lost album, self-produced in 1990—the year legendary jazz ballad singer Jimmy Scott, known for his “miraculous voice,” enjoyed a resurgence thanks to his performances in the hit drama *Twin Peaks*—and originally sold exclusively at live venues, is being re-released! Backed by his regular band at the time—Kenichi Shimazu (P), Hilliard Green (B), Brian Kirk (DS), and Alvin Freis (TS)—this hidden gem showcases his rich, angelic vocals. It has been newly remastered and comes with a booklet packed with photos and liner notes. Jimmy Scott was born in Ohio in 1925. He became famous for his unique, high-pitched voice, a result of a congenital condition. In 1949, he was selected as a vocalist for Lionel Hampton’s orchestra, and his rendition of “Everybody’s Somebody’s Fool”—performed as “Little Jimmy Scott”—became a hit. In 1955, he made his album debut with *Very Truly Yours* on Savoy. After releasing two more albums, he released *Falling in Love Is Wonderful* in 1963 on Ray Charles’s Tangerine label, but it was immediately withdrawn due to contractual issues with Savoy and shelved. Compounded by the lack of a manager, he disappeared from the public eye during the 1960s. In 1970, he made a comeback with *The Source* on Atlantic, but with no promotion during the height of the R&B boom, he subsequently vanished from the industry entirely. In the 1980s, he began performing in clubs on and off. Then, in 1991, he gained sudden attention after performing a song on the globally popular TV series *Twin Peaks*. The following year, in 1992, she made a miraculous comeback with *All The Way*, featuring an all-star lineup. She went on to release albums consistently, winning a Grammy Award and the NEA Jazz Master Award. She passed away in 2014 at the age of 88.
