Next up is the rich groove of King Floyd’s “Baby Let Me Kiss You,” the bold R&B track “Baby Don’t You Tear My Clothes” by “the founder of rock ’n’ roll” Little Richard’s bold R&B track “Baby Don’t You Tear My Clothes,” and Jackie Wilson’s “Soul Galore,” which piles on the intensity with his overwhelming vocal power—the Soul Brother spirit explodes right from the start! In the middle section, two tracks by “King of Romantic Soul” Tyrone Davis. From the contrasting pair—the quintessential Great Chicago Soul track “All the Waiting Is Not in Vain” and “Freak,” with its pleasant, modern texture unique to the ’90s—you can fully appreciate the depth of his artistry.
