Ariane Gheitasi began playing the oboe at the age of 11 and graduated with honors from the Music School of Tehran. He also won the first prize at the Tehran Contemporary Music Festival and is the principal oboe player of the Tehran Symphony Orchestra and other orchestras. In this album, he records rare Persian music, usually recorded with traditional instruments, for oboe and piano. The music is not often heard, but it is a fascinating collection of works.
