Description:

Michael Endres is a mid-career German pianist known for his wide repertoire, ranging from Romantic to contemporary works. He recorded Schubert's sonatas and dances for the CAPRICCIO label in the 1990s, but this time he takes on a new interpretation of Schubert, focusing mainly on improvisations. The Couperwieser-Waltz at the end of the album is a small waltz that Schubert composed for a friend's wedding, and Richard Strauss transcribed it from his preserved notes and finally published it in 1970. It is also known that Russian composer Silvestrov quoted it in his "Two Dialogues. Naxos Japan
