It has been about a year and a half since their last album, "ROYA," which won accolades for their ability to revive the traditional Iranian pop sound in the modern age. Recorded in collaboration with Uri Brauner Kinlot (Ouzo Bazooka and Boom Pam), this new EP is entirely sung in Farsi. The lead single, "Haarf" (which translates directly to "speak"), is an anthemic song led by a lilting, tight snare sound that is colored by disco, synthesizer lines with a pan-Middle Eastern touch that she was influenced by. The live and musically insurrectionary nature of this collection of songs makes it a recommendation not only for world music fans, but also for fans of Glass Beams, Altun Gün, and Kulan Bin. Here is another good work that gives positive vitality to the Middle Eastern music scene.
