The first collection of recital recordings by the Welsh tenor, celebrating the 10th anniversary of his death. Welsh tenor Robert Teare was a major presence in the classical music world for more than 40 years, both on the operatic stage and in recital. This year, the 10th anniversary of his death, Argo's recital recordings are being released together for the first time. His consummate musicianship and broad range are generously showcased. The recordings include German songs by Weber, Schumann, Mendelssohn, Liszt, Mahler, etc., Russian songs by Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff, and English songs recorded in her early years with the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields conducted by Sir Neville Marriner. The album also includes a 1971 recording of Jan Jan Janowski's "The Sopranos".
