Pierre-Laurent Emard (Piano) Session recording: September 19~22, 2022 / Gustav Mahler Hall, Dobbiaco (Italy) Executive Producer: Renaud Loranger Recording Producer: Christoph Klassen Instrument:piano duo Op.353018 (CD) DDD Digipak Imported with Japanese obi Pierre-Laurent Emard, who has been actively releasing music on the PENTATONE label, has recorded Schubert's "Lentler" dances. Lentler is a folk dance with a slow 3/4 time signature that was popular in German-speaking countries, mainly in southern Germany and Switzerland, until the end of the 18th century. Schubert composed many simple and cheerful pieces based on the Lentler beat. The simple but rich harmony is appealing, almost picturesque, lyrical, and tuneful. Emmerle, who conceived of a program that connects Schubert's pieces (dances) and Kurtág's "Play" to the Corona Disaster like a story, will perform the same program at the Sogakudo of Tokyo University of the Arts as a special concert for young people during his visit to Japan in 2023. The one-of-a-kind Webern-inspired program was also broadcast on NHK's Classic Club. Schubert's piano works are famous for his late piano sonatas, improvisations, and Wanderer Fantasy, but Emmerle's unique selection of these pieces proves how beautiful they are and how Schubert's character is expressed in them. This is a new masterpiece of the Lentler cycle. (King International)
