Hernan Jacinto is one of the best session pianists in Argentina, and in recent years, he has also showcased his exceptional talent in a duo with Brazilian singer/songwriter Fabio Codore and with Mateo Ottonello, the latest trend in South American jazz/fusion, who has absorbed influences from Louis Cole and the Minas New Generation. His latest work, "Gardel," is now available in physical format! Recorded with bassist Flavio Romero and drummer Fernando Moreno, the trio reconstructs seven songs from the repertoire of Argentine music icon Carlos Gardel in a jazz context. More than a mere tribute, it sheds contemporary light on classic melodies through original arrangements and freedom of interpretation. The performance moves freely from moments of introspection to free improvisation to dense rhythmic swells, keeping the melodic spirit of the originals firmly alive. This album won the 2025 Gardel Prize for Best Jazz Album. Gardel" is the culmination of Hernan Jacinto's explorations and represents the current state of Argentine jazz.
