Laila Scheiek, a violinist of the new generation of classical music, studied with Chiara Banchini at the Schola Cantorum Basel (SCB), the headquarters of classical music in Switzerland, and since 2010 she has been teaching baroque violin at the SCB herself. This is the seventh Glossa recording of Laila Shayek, who has been a member of Chiara Banchini's Ensemble 415, La Risonanza, and Concerto Cologne. This is the second collection of violin concertos by Jean-Marie Leclerc (1697-1764), a master of 18th century French violin music who studied under Corelli's pupil Giovanni Battista Somis and was called "the French Corelli. Continuing from the first volume, this collection includes "No. 1" and "No. 3" from the two violin concerto collections "Op. 7" and "Op. 10" written by Leclerc, respectively.Driven by Andrea Guarneri 1675, an original baroque violin from the late 17th century, Leclerc's stunning violin concerto combines exhilarating Italian virtuosity and refined French elegance.
