The Roach + Tarentine brothers' world premiere live performance, their second collection. This is the second volume of the Max Roach Quintet's Swiss live performances, the last of which received a great deal of critical acclaim. Recorded four years after the accidental death of his friend Clifford Brown, the piano-less performance featuring the Tarentine brothers, Tommy and Stanley, clearly shows that Roach has taken a new step forward. The performance of Kenny Dorham's (2) is over 20 minutes long, and the passionate performance, which takes many times longer than the studio recording, is a true jazz live performance.
