He has established a strong presence through his involvement in numerous cutting-edge recordings, including the serene ambient album *SmallDay*, the duo album *Doubles* with Meg Duffy, *WaterMap* with Dustin Wong, a trio project with Josh Johnson and Sam Wilkes, and works as part of the trance-jazz band SML. This album, *ExtraStars*, is a distillation of those experiences, with 14 short pieces weaving gentle melodies and soundscapes infused with serendipity to create expansive soundscapes. Despite the near-total absence of percussion, the rhythmic sense is rich, and pastoral beauty coexists with intricate harmonies.
