In the interim, the members of the Casals String Quartet have been working on a complete recording of Beethoven’s string quartets, further refining their ensemble sound. The “Haydn Set” consists of works written during the period when Mozart was based in Vienna and demonstrating his unparalleled genius and creativity. This long-awaited recording by the Casals Quartet is finally here! Formed in 1997, the Casals String Quartet won the London International String Quartet Competition in 2000 and the Hamburg International Brahms String Quartet Competition in 2002, quickly gaining worldwide recognition for their talent. They made their first visit to Japan in 2007, followed by visits in 2009, 2011, and 2014. In June 2018, they appeared in the Beethoven Cycle (complete works, 6 concerts) at the Suntory Hall Chamber Music Garden 2018, delivering a breathtaking performance. King International
