Description:
This album is a collection of British flute works from the 1900s. Many of the pieces are by composers who studied or taught at the Royal Academy of Music, and all are world recordings (except for the private recordings). All of the works are easy to listen to in a very British way, and can be enjoyed in beautiful recordings that pick up the extended sound of the Menuhin Hall. Flutist Dutton studied at the Royal College of Music, and since 1997 has been principal flutist of the Scots Guards in London. Pianist Davis has a deep knowledge of music history and is highly regarded for his series of concerts on historical themes. This is a very valuable and significant album not only for fans of British music, but also for the flute repertoire. Naxos Japan
