Green-House's debut EP, Six Songs for Invisible Gardens, was released in 2020, coinciding with the height of the Corona Disaster "lockdown. The cassette release was packaged with wildflower seeds for listeners to scatter. This gesture is a testament to Ardizoni's sincere and earnest beliefs. Further refining the formula that established the EP as a cult eco-ambient hit, Music for Living Spaces was released as Green-House's first full-length in 2021. Now comes A Host For All Kinds of Life, the third in a series of releases whose titles all revolve around the word "for. This is arguably Green-House's most expansive release to date. This is evident in the album's title and the kaleidoscopic, fractal cover art designed by Flanagan.A Host For All Kinds of Life" troubles the very notion of "ambient music" with which Green-House has always been in tension. What if a seemingly soft song is actually edgy? What if their carefree, contemplative joys radically alter the way we think? What if it is our very role as secular subjects? Drawing from the work of Lynn Margulis and our burgeoning understanding of the evolutionary role of biological mutualism (the connection between species that benefits both species), this is a deeply rooted, politically grounded suite of songs. the ninth song, "Everything is Okay" (incidentally, the Ardizoni often talks about the centrality of joy in conversation.Green-House's very existence can be traced back to a conscious decision to not only choose joy as an act of defiance, but to find joy in whatever plant life is around them. In this sense, all of Green-House's releases (especially "A Host for All Kinds of Life") embody a radicality that casual or first-time listeners may not understand.
