In 1966, Davey Allan and the Arrows became famous for "Blue's Theme" used in the movie "The Wild Angels," and went on to do soundtracks for many biker movies, earning them the nickname "The King of Fuzz. However, Alan was a session man who had never ridden a motorcycle and had never been involved in the wild parties of drunkenness, violence, and drugs, and was busy recording day in and day out with his high school classmate, Mike Curb, who became a producer. While other bands were falling out of favor due to the rigors of touring, the Arrows found touring to be a way to relax.However, that is precisely why the fuzz sound produced by the band is neither blues-roots nor country-roots, but rather a unique and liberating California surf-music-root.
