The cello section of JNO, Keisuke Morita, Yuya Mizuno, Rei Kagetsu, and Kenji Sasaki, have newly formed the "JNO Cello Quartet". This is a new project by the four members, who have studied in different places in the U.S., Germany, France, and Austria, to fully enjoy the charm of the cello. This project was born out of a casual conversation that took place about two years ago, in which the four members asked each other, "Why don't we make a Christmas album together? The ensemble will perform Christmas songs that are familiar to everyone, utilizing classical techniques and sensibilities, with the rich resonance that only cello can provide. The arrangements are by JNO violinist Yuukiko Ishihara and some of the members themselves, and the result is a piece of warmth and depth that can be felt everywhere; the four members' rapport and enjoyment of playing is evident in the sound, and it is a piece that will envelop the listener's heart. The warm and deep tones of the cello gently envelop the sacred night. We hope you will enjoy the "Christmas Story" performed by the JNO Cello Quartet this winter. (C)RS
